Overview

MIDSR ,Dental College, Latur has been established in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra in the year 2006 by Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad .  Institute is established with a view to cater the needs for services related to oral & dental health of the people in this area, and to provide opportunities to the deserving young men & Women who have an ambition to pursue the course. It is recognized by Dental Council of India and is affiliated to Maharashtra university of Health Sciences, Nashik.

MIDSR is located in the outskirt area Vishwanathpuram of Latur ,with a beautifully structured building right at the entrance of the campus .The campus is more than 100 acres on which Medical, Nursing, Physiotherapy colleges are running. Hostel facility for both the girls as well as boys students is available.

Experienced teachers with excellent technical skills and research approach, equipped with modern teaching facilities train the students to become professionals in the field of dental sciences.

MIDSR firmly believes in value based education system. Thus it aims to provide best education with latest technology, keeping in view the principles of the Indian culture to serve humanity.

The MIDSR Dental College has a well-equipped dental hospital with 205 dental chairs and all other necessary equipment’s as per the guidelines of Dental Council Of India (DCI) . Specious outpatient department and 550-bedded Y.C.R.Hospital & Separate 100-bedded hospital for Dental College are the special features. Dental College are the special features Modern facilities like ceramic laboratory, induction casting facilities, simulators and research microscope facilitate learning skills of the students.  Practical halls, spacious lecture halls, departmental library, central Library and free internet facility round the clock are the other features which can provide good clinical exposure to the students.

Admission Process :: Under Graduate

Admission process in MIDSR Dental College Latur is strictly as per the guidelines issued from time to time by the Govt. of Maharashtra and MUHS, Nashik. Govt. of Maharashtra and the Director of Dental Council of India issue State / National Level notification regarding the process of admission before the admissions start.

The admission to the UG courses are completely transparent and strictly in accordance with the merit list of Govt. CET conducted by Director of Dental Council of India, who is the competent authority in Maharashtra. The merit listed students are allotted the college by the competent authority. The college has, as such, no control over the admission process. However, the overall admissions are finally effected and enrolled at the MIDSR Dental College as per the merit list of the students sent by the competent authority of Govt. of Maharashtra.

A Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Government every year for UG courses. The State Government ensures complete transparency in the entire admission process. Students as well as members of the general public are free to access all the necessary information connected to the admission process from the relevant websites of the government. As such, the Institution follows the guidelines and the students who are selected by the competent authority are admitted without any bias. Students (15%) approaching for NRI / management quota are selected based on their merit and the list of the selected students is displayed prominently on the notice boards.

Govt. of Maharashtra and the Competent Authority (Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Mumbai) issue State Level notification regarding the process of admission before the admissions start.

The admission to the PG Dental courses are completely transparent and strictly in accordance with the merit list of Govt. CET conducted by Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Mumbai, who is the competent authority in Maharashtra. The merit listed students are allotted the college by the competent authority. The college has, as such, no control over the admission process. However, the overall admissions are finally effected and enrolled at the MIDSR Dental College as per the merit list of the students sent by the competent authority of Govt. of Maharashtra.

Eligibility Criteria

Under graduate courses

H. S. C. or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 HSC examination of any recognized Board/ University after 12 years of study. 50% in PCB for general category and 40% for reserved category.

Post graduate courses

B.D.S. examination passed of any recognized University. 50% in PGD-CET for general category and 40% in PGD-CET for reserved category Students.
