HackMIT-WPU ‘23
Organized by Innovation Hub in collaboration with Google Developers Student Club, HackMITWPU 2023 was an innovation platform brought to the students of Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune. It was not merely a technothon, but a mix of challenges and problem statements revolving around technical, the world of business, pharmaceutical sciences, and much more! At HackMITWPU 2023, participants got the chance to work with new technologies, develop innovative solutions to real-world problems, and present their ideas to a panel of industry-level judges who were called by renowned companies across India. Learning and sharing knowledge by presenting novel ideas and proposing personalised solutions from across the university including disciplines like Liberal Arts, Business, Sciences, Pharma, Engineering, and much more. No actual prototype was required to be submitted for the presentation.
The 2023 edition had 5 distinct tracks having 30+ Ready Innovation Projects in Made in MITWPU track, 50+ Working Prototypes in the Workathon track, 17 Startups in Entrepreneurial Track, 260+ New Ideas in the Ideathon track, 40 Pharma Ideas in Pharmathon track across 500 Total Registrations!
The tracks covered:
1) Ideathons are intensive brainstorming events where individuals from different backgrounds, skills, and interests converge to diagnose predefined problems
2) Made In MIT-WPU: Opportunity is for participants from the first edition of HackMITWPU who received funding of Rs. 1 lakh in HackMITWPU’22.
3) The goal of a workathon is to create functioning software or hardware by the end of the event.
4) Entrepreneurial: This challenge is targeted towards young start-ups to provide them with incubational opportunities and help them learn and grow.
5) Pharmathon Track: Students of any discipline are invited to participate and propose solutions in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Healthcare.
The competition must lead to the spirit of research and entrepreneurship across the university giving birth to more patents, start-ups, products, and student-driven innovation.
